Ingredients

Salmon:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound salmon fillets
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Orange Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice (fresh squeezed from approximately 1 orange)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, whisked with 1 teaspoon water (optional for a thicker glaze)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the salmon: Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Place them in the skillet, skin side up. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  3. Make the glaze: In the same skillet, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and cornstarch slurry if using. Cook until hot and slightly thickened.
  4. Coat salmon: Return salmon to the pan, coat with the glaze, and add orange slices if desired.

Notes

  • For a thicker glaze, use the cornstarch slurry. Omit for a thinner sauce.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 2-3 days.
