Casserole

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • Salt/pepper to taste
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella, divided
  • ¾ lb. penne pasta

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sauce: Combine all sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F.
  3. Cook Ground Beef: Season beef with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet with onions and garlic until browned.
  4. Add Sauce: Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, and prepared sauce. Simmer.
  5. Cook Pasta: Boil pasta until al dente.
  6. Combine: Mix Parmesan and ¼ cup mozzarella into sauce. Add drained pasta.
